Who called him a moron?
Since when is putting other people in REAL danger, not to mention all the other potential downsides, ok?
I've done TONS of stupid things, both on and off a bike. I'm extremely fortunate not to have killed myself or more importantly taken someone else out. When Nick, who clearly is way over his head when draggin knee, takes out your wife on a public road, or your dog even, I'm sure you'll be singing a different tune.
Do I think Nick is a bad guy? No, not at all. I think he's probably a lot like me, just slightly greener when it comes to how quickly things can go really really wrong. He's got the same mind set I had not that long ago, but guess what? It's an uninformed, selfish, and extremely dangerous mindset. People are way too complacent about riding out of control on public streets.
Lastly, draggin toe/peg/knee, getting scared ****less, and chopping the throttle is not "normal and safe". A little fun is not worth all the risk, and you can't justifiably make the call for the other people on the road. This isn't about riding fast, this is about riding under control.
Some people don't fully understand why good gear is important. Some people don't fully understand why a self-inflicted close call is NOT ok.
