installed the scorpion slip ons yesterday. they are beautiful polished stainless. total time took about 45 mins. very straight forward and easy. sound is so much more exciting. no power gains although i went into it not expecting any. very happy with the sound. good loud tone under accel but mellows out really nice at cruising speeds.

o yea i love the sound. anyone know when the smell will go away though? i guess whatever oils and stuff that were on it are putting off a strong stinch. Sorry for the low quality pictures, i don't have a good camera.

Cool. 45 minutes is about right (more or less depending on how many times you've done this type of thing or if you took pictures, took your time, etc.).

Agreed, the sound is really nice and turns the bike into something more sporty. Please remember to throttle blip on downshifts -- anything to get the sound to come out :rockon:.

Hm... I felt a good amount of power gain (maybe because I like to rev more to hear the noise). Did you try to ride from say 7K RPM and up? I think I felt more power from 6.5K and up. It wasn't huge but it was noticeable. Sometimes, I'm afraid to rev too hard because I don't want a wheelie .

Before the install, I rode maybe 1000 miles with drilled OEM muffler; when I installed the Scorpions, I didnt' have to unplug the battery to reset the ECU like others felt they needed to.

I think a significant part of the smell went away after maybe 4 commutes to work (62 miles round trip 60%/40% highway/backroads).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy them.

I probably have 250 miles on my Scorps and the odor has lessened considerably. Just a little left now.....

odd thing is i got similar scorps fitted to mine, but, the outlet angle is different on mine.. logo in same place on the side, but the stamped/embossed logo on the top of the cans is in a different position
