SD RIDER's or any riders in SO CAL. I would like to put a group ride together on Sept 12th or 13th. This way we all have the time to mark your calenders and keep the weekend open.

I know westgoingzax and nncoder are always up for the ride:thumbup:

lets ride!

If it's on the 12th I'll try to make it!

Do you have a route in mind yet? Palomar?

No route planned yet, wanted to leave that open till we see how many riders we have, and then we can vote on Palomar, Big Bear or Angeles Crest or any other great roads in between.

Sounds like you got me pegged. haha Sept 12th works better for me too. Hopefully we'll get a good group together! I'm still a noob, but I'll try to keep up. :)

I might be up for that. I'll make sure I don't schedule myself to teach that weekend.

But I have to get my steering head bearings replaced before I do any sort of aggressive riding. It's rattling pretty bad. If I get it done, a strong maybe.

Date is coming up quick:Sport: any other riders interested in meeting up?

Lets make a plan and ride our plan!

pm me if you wanta ride or have a route in mind:thumbup:

Interested. Might have off the previous week, but if I'm in town I'll try to join. Never done Palomar... Angeles Crest to Wrightwood is always an amazing ride.

I rode BIG BEAR back on the 9th and wanted to head over to the crest, but ran outa day light. Crest is good for me:rockon:

Anyone set up with a chatter box so we can coordinate a channel and group?

Cliff

I sent you a PM Smokenu. I'm in the for the ride! I don't have a preference on the route.. Crest, Palomar, Big Bear... I think it'd would be great to get out earlier before it gets too hot though... if that works for everyone else.

I think I'm down. My vote is Crest because I have not got on it since they reopenned it. Also, I second the notion that we head out earlier so we dont hit the heat.

I'm always good to go earlier. I wouldn't mind Crest as I've never ridden it. Some one told me this weekend that it's more like a freeway through the mountains when compared to South Grade. South Grade @ Palomar is only about 7 miles up or down but tight and fun. Crest would be a new experience for me. I should be set up with my GoPro Cam.

I might be in for this. Dont really know my schedule yet. But if im free and if the route is tempting, I will be in. Watch out for cops on the crest tho.

Sept 12 is the day!

San Diego Riders, It will take us around 1hr 30 min to ride form the Mobile gas station (76 & 15) to hwy138. which will take us to Wrightwood ( hwy 2 Angeles Crest ).

What time do we want to meet
7am
8am

SoCal Riders,
Where do you guy's want to meet up?

If everyone will PM me I will collect all the info and post as we get closer.

ACH is currently closed from Big Pines all the way to La Canada from the big fire. With all of the damage to the roadway it might be a while before its open again.

Forgot about that...I remember hearing something about that as well as some other rides that have been recently canceled.

Cliff

It might be a better idea to do Palomar and surroundings... ACH and the like won't be "rideable' anytime soon...

I should be in for this :)

+1 on what David said. ACH burned bad..I live 10 mins from it and ive been watching the fire for the last couple of days. It started small on the side of the mountain and then moved with the wind and burned places i didnt think it would reach. There was this huge mushroom cloud too yesterday. And at night it looks extra weird. The light of the flames hit the smoke that builds on top of the mountain. Looks sick like fire of Mordor or something. :D
