RyanK R6 Fork, Fender Mount Install

I finally got about to installing my shiny new RyanK R6 Fork Fender mounts. These are designed for the '07+ FZ6 so you can retain the stock fender after installing an R6 or R6S fork. Many thanks goes to Ryan for taking the time to make this outstanding product and doing for pretty much free. :thumbup: Thank you!

When Fred and I installed the fork on my bike I cobbled up some functional fender brackets; ugly but works up to a certified 135 mph.

When I first installed my fender I had to cut a hole in the fender in order to route the mounting tab from the fork through the fender to be able to attach the mounting bracket. To get Ryans brakets to work I had to cut the hole into a slot. I used my new super cool hand saw; it was like a hot knife through butter!

The next step is to install the longer of the two mounts. Ryan list a clear order of operations in his instructions.

The trick to mounting this piece is to angle the bottom of the braket about 1/8" closer to the fork leg than the top half.

Once the two long brackets are installed it is simlpy a matter to fitting the fender and installing the two rear/smaller brackets. The whole mod took maybe 30 minutes tops.

I just installed mine yesterday and it looks just like you've posted.

Many thanks to Ryan for all his hard work.

Now all I need is for this snow to melt and the weather to warm up so I can get out and ride.

What about the older Fz6 fenders.
Before 2007 models.
Do they fit without adaptors to R6 forks.
I think of making this fork upgrade to my 2005 Fz6.
What do you think?

yeahh older ones fit without cutting but u still need to make brackets.

fork upgrade is great!!! :rockon::rockon::rockon:

the older fenders require some different brackets than the '07+. I've never seen them on here, just on SBN. Good luck finding some already made though...
