This thread is in response to Returned to Apologize by Chromex.

The other day I was riding and ended up directly behind my wife at a redlight. Her car has a sensor issue and if her RPMs rise too quickly her car stalls. Thus, she accelerated very slowly. Just as the light turned green she slowly pulls out and almost gets plowed by a guy running the redlight.

The first thought through my head was "If that had been me I would have been further into the lane and been smashed by this wreckless driver."

Therein lies my question to all of you, If we are expected to be adults and apologize when we make a mistake (which I thought was a great move by Chromex) then what is the proper reaction to a situation like this?

Try to stay chill, but man it pisses me off when someone carelessly attempts to kill me or the ones I love.

What part of the bluegrass state? Bowling Green is famous for the optional red lights. You know, if you feel like it go ahead and stop.

I live close to Ashland. I have to admit I kind of lost it when it all happened and it seems like little things happen all the time. Just wondering how everybody else deals with it.

snatch him out of the car by his shirt.
headbutt him four or five time (with the helmet still on)
put him back in the car (unconsious)
put car in drive and let it roll off of the road.
go home and make sweet sweet love.

wow, that was really wrong but that is the mood im in........ Is it five o'clock yet?

:mad:Pandora's box... I not long ago would have followed the s.o.b and lost it, especially having involved my wife.

My rule is simple, you can f*k with me all you want, but you do not harm or intend to harm my wife or my children:spank:

Nothing to do but thank your lucky stars that the situation hadn't been different.

Just one more reason you don't need to speed off from a stop light - other people are stupid/inconsiderate.

So you'd go to jail for someone almost hitting your wife in a vehicle? Would suck to be your wife in that instance, eh?

1. Do not road rage on a bike against ANY cage.
2. Even if the light turns green, LOOK BOTH WAYS! Idiots abound!
3. Follow the guy and pass him then open the super secret trap door that expels 100 black nails onto the road behind you but in his path. Exercise your maniacal laugh within the confines of your helmet for the remaining ride to your destination.

Apparently you missed this part " I not long ago "

I am not anywhere near that much of hot head anymore because of what I have to lose.

I like FZ6inNH ideas:thumbup:

Well, I feel good that you all have been inspired by my story.
On this issue, I honestly can't say I have never/ever blown a light. I can't point the finger - there's 3 pointing back at me. Me, of course by accident. Luck or the "attention" of others, it has not been of consequence.
I saw a fellow biker do the typical split, up to the front of the line - his mistake was trying to get away from the cars either side with a .01 reaction time - plowed by the car .01 after the red. I count to 3 with a look - look and still get out ahead of the cars either side.
I try to tell myself if/when I have/had an accident on my motor it's always my fault. "I should have been ready for that...."! That darn Racoon came out of no where and chopped my front end like a linebacker....my fault, to fast for conditions.

DUDE, I live in the exact same area as you do. I live in Flatwoods, I'm supprised I haven't seen you out. I'm out all the time riding 207 and Rt.1:Flash::Flash::rockon::thumbup:

Whoops, I've done something similar before. There was a garbage truck that always made a u-turn through our front lawn which dug deep ruts everywhere. We've got 8 acres, but the front part is the only part we maintain like a yard. Anyways, I welded up some caltrops out of rebar and threw 15 of them out in the yard. The truck ended up flatting 3 tires on the spot, but the dumb ass driver kept trying to drive on them, so once he got completely out of sight, I ran back outside and picked them all up. He ended up cutting deep grooves in the street with his wheels and got charged for damages by the county while he was waiting for a heavy tow truck to come. Epic win. :D

Whoever was driving was going way to fast for me to read his plate, and I didn't think about it. Maybe next time I'll be prepared.

Funny thing was that he was driving a hearse.

I'm working on it but the ejection isn't working and the nails keep falling straight down! Dangerous if you're actually riding. No road test yet for obvious reasons.

im not much of a supersticous person but that might actually make me not ride for a day or two thinking that the crypt keeper was trying to get some brownie points....

Another way is to have a little bag of fishing sinkers hanging on your bike somewhere. Something like this happens, catch up, overtake, and then when travelling a nice speed, grab a sinker or 2 and discreetly throw them over your shoulder... makes a lovely little (or big - depending on what size sinkers you use :D )dent in the hood...lol

Obviously takes a bit of practice to get the throw just right.

Eggs work well ... as soon as the egg hits, they'll feel the urge to wash the windows ....

The old favourite is ball bearings ...

My personal sggestion though, is a small canister of pepper spray. Ride in front of target (any speed works) and spray papper spray. It will get pulled into his aircon and he will be pulling over shortly.

You can then have a word, should you wish ... as he will not be feeling very brave anymore.
