Sad news today, insurance company phoned to tell me that my FZ6 is a write off! Just got my Scorpion cans on a few weeks ago so took it out for a nice saturday morning ride, went down a road i didn't know, went round the right hand S bend and got caught out by the left hander! :spank: Ended up in A&E for 2 weeks, just got out with broken femur :( Been told not to ride for a year!! :(

So sorry to hear that! Still, be glad you survived the whole thing! Good luck to you:thumbup:

Ouch! sorry to hear about your bike and your injuries, at least your here to tell the tale....

Why cant you ride for a full year?

sucks about the bike dude, but how bad was it? you might be able to buy it back if it is fixable and use this year to build it back the way you like, that way you can bond more with the bike for next year. you may even make some money in the process.

Get better soon! The bike can be replaced, femur not so easily. Broken femurs are a big deal - they can also bleed like stink! Let it heal. Take the year off. save some money and get yourself another bike in a year.

Cheers everyone, Doctor reckons it takes about a year for the bone to totally heal, i have a rod from hip to knee now, and hell yeah it bleeds a lot, lost a pint and a half of blood in my leg, bone marrow got into my lungs so had to have help breathing for a week! I think i might be on a bike before then though!!!

I wouldn't want to buy it back as it was lying on its side at full throttle for 15 minutes, didn't sound good at all, if it wasn't for that it was not too badly damaged!

blows.. but hey.. at least your on the mend.. glad it wasnt worse.. sucks about the bike, but yea, i wouldnt want it back if it was laying on the side @ full throttole for that long.. feel better

one of my buddies had the same thing. However his was from back when we raced Motocross. He still doesn't walk right! One thing he did say is that when it is cold out he can feel it and it hurts.... Best of luck!!!! He also isnt the brightest person I know, he was back on his mx bike back then within 6 months.... Make sure they keep an eye on it, They had to go back in this past year to move some of the screws holding it, they were pinching a nerve. He was stuck on a couch for 2 weeks, every time he went to move he got sick....

Wow! Sorry to hear about this! That was a serious accident and you're lucky to be here typing about it! Heal up, save and get a new ride!

Would you say it was just inexperience or over-zealous throttle? What gear did you have on?

Take care!!!
