I found that there was to much slop or play in the shift lever so I figured that by moving the pivot point in on the input lever it would reduce the play.
You will need am M6x1.25 tap, a .196 drill and some way to hold the lever while you drill and tap it.
Remove the heim joint and don't loose the spacer--
Remove the lever, the bolt has to come all the way out in order to remove the lever from the shaft.
Drill and tap a new hole 1/4 (.250") in from the existing one, I cheated and used a milling machine(nice to have a home shop:thumbup

Clean all the oil off and reinstall everything using blue Loctite for that secure feeling.
Can't tell anything was done and the rod clears the housing just fine. The shifting is crisper especially down shifting, its not drastic but a noticeable improvement:thumbup:
Disclaimer--This will probably void your warrentee and I would wait until you have a few miles on the bike so the trans is broke in.
Do not try this if you have any doubts as to your ability to drill and tap a hole in the correct location and please be careful
