Not sure what tires you're running. But are they better when warmed up? I found on my bt016, after some miles at highway speed they feel much batter. When I leave work like recently with temps in the 40s or so, the tires feel a little slippery for the first few miles. On my way out to the street, I sway the bike left and right and accel/decel to help warm the tires.
I run 33/36 as others suggest but recently I drop about 1-2 psi to help them warm faster and maybe get a little more traction in the cold.
Check your tires and maybe wash them really well to ensure they don't have anything slippery on them. I like to wash them and rinse really well and blow dry with a leaf blower. I then feel them to ensure they feel clean. I think this weekend will be just warm enough for a wash.
