R6 / R6S fork mod upgrade

soo... Is anyone doing/thinking of doing this mod??? the machine shop i was going to use mysteriously went out of business and i still need to source out the shims and such. I know McMaster has the brake shims, but what about the fender tabs and axle shims/wheel spacer. is anyone working at a machine shop that might want to make a few bucks selling some of these sets on the forum?? or does anyone have a set that they want to sell???

oh and I have all the pictures and master cad files if anyone wants them.. just email me @ [email protected] and ill email them back to you. and if you get a set made up, please post from where an how much. thanks :thumbup:

I just did it a few weeks ago. I made the wheel spacers, used washers for brake spacers, bought a R6S front fender that will just need slight bit of modding and painted to make work. Finding all the parts and having them ready is the hardest part, swapping everything is pretty easy.

what wheel spacers are u guys on about?

all i used was the r6 front axle and it went straight in no worries

there is a slight gap around the wheels.. you can either shim or use spacers. in this image you can see what im talking about. the top bigger peices are the wheel spacers

Fred and I made a set of fender tabs using simple bar aluminium and spacers. It was pretty easy. There is a photo of them on my fork install thread, I just don't have time to find it right now.

They are nice. I set the adjustments up like recommended for a R6S off one of the motorcycle sites. A good bit less brake dive, less "bouncing". I only rode on it for a few minutes and it's been put up since (it's still winter here). I think for everything including the fender, forks, spacers, etc i paid between $200-225. I bought a set of galfer lines from someone on here for around $50 i think, but those weren't required.
