R6 forks done and thanks to everyone here!!!

Whew finished up the R6 forks/brakes mod and wow what a difference even for a newbie. The front feels much more stable in turns, the forks seem to soak up all the road bumps and the brakes kick ass too!!!

Also I wanted to thank this whole message board, this is the best board I've been on motorcycle related or not. With all the help, info, and inspiration I've gotten on this board has helped me mod out my girl!!!!

So what did it take to get this mod done dollar wise? Also a parts list and locator would be sweet. Nice ride by the way I like the Silver and Black bikes don't see many of them.

It's not really that tough once you get all the right bits. And we've got to remember to thank all the squidly-diddly R6 riders who wreck their bikes, otherwise we wouldn't have the forks to get this done.

GC I had to get the following parts

R6 Forks/Front Calipers
R6 front axle and bolt
04-06 wheel spacers,caliper spacers and fender adapter
EBC brake pads

Also ppl recommended buying SS Brake lines, but I already had those.
also one of my fork caps were damaged to I bought a replacement part for that.
All in all the parts cost me 200 shipped. If I didn't have to replace the forkcap it would have been 175, I got all my parts from here, clist and ebay.
Doing actual mod is very easy once you have all the parts :rockon:


Hellgate definately worth the cost , only problem now is i find myself going faster thru all the turns.... hehe maybe thats not a problem tho :thumbup:

Thanks, those headers I wish I could get them more silver though, they just don't wanna turn silver

Yes I bought my forks from a guy who got in physical fight with his roommate who then decided to get back at him by running his bike over with his car, odd to see a bike with the front end intact and back end so trashed.
