I love the look of the dark smoke, but not sure if it would hinder visibility.
Anyone with a dark smoke have any issues, regrets?
Any pics of the Puigs on 04-06 in either variation would be appreciated.

How tall are you? Do you need to see through the windshield to drive? It makes a big difference. I am 5'10" and don't need to actually look thru the shield but I bought the plain Smoke Puig anyway. I also have a tank camera mount and the smoke still allows decent video.

5'9". I don't look through it regularly, but if I need to tuck down a bit I'd like to know I can still see what's up ahead.

If you do a fair amount of night riding, I'd stay away from the Dark and get the plain Smoke. The dark will hinder you at night a great deal. The Smoke, not so much.

Here's my 04 FZ6 with the smoke Puig screen.......

For me at 6'2" it isn't a problem at all and even in a tuck dang near on the tank; I look over it and never through it. I have the dark blue Puig and the difference from the stock screen was huge. I love it

Thanks FZ6inNH,

Would you guys mind posting some pics?

I see you have excellent taste in both bikes AND cars...the STi is a great car.
Here's my 06 with the Puig light smoke screen. It's all up to one's personal taste, of course, but I think the dark smoke is just a bit too much on the pre-07 FZ6. The light smoke screen is dark at the bottom, which hides that awful area that you see with the clear screen, and light smoke at the top. I didn't particularly care for the stylized "FZ6" logo on the front, but I've got used to it. :)

that logo is the one thing I dont like about the light smoke, which is why i'm thinking maybe I could go dark smoke. I really don't like that FZ6 logo they put on there, but then again there's always stick..... i mean decals.

I got my dark blue one just after they came out in 2004. The FZ6 is very small and you will need to look for it but the Puig isn't there at all. They must have changed the logo part after I got mine.

Thanks for the pics. I think the light smoke might be the way to go.

Lol. I actually have an STi powered Forester!
Lots of mods to the suspension bits as well. Tends to raise some eyebrows at the track..

The FZ6 logo actually shows up more in pictures than in reality.

Good choice...you won't be disappointed. The "light smoke" area is quite dark enough, imo.

No warranty for YOU. :D
That's really cool...did you drop in the STi motor or is it a European/Japanese gray market import Forester STi?

I originaly ordered the light smoke racing Puig for my blue 2007 FZ6. A few months later I traded it for a dark-smoke Puig screen. I have no regrets. The dark looks good on the blue and the light smoke looks good on the red; it was a good trade for both parties

I tuck in on the freeways daily. I have not issues with visibility during night riding and day commuting.

Cheers

^^Sure, toss a wrench in my plans.. :D

In 04 it actually came with the STi motor (same heads, internals, intake mani, etc.), but a different turbo and intercooler. Swap those, get some engine management, and you have an STi motor! Kinda like the FZ6 and the R6. Sorry for the OT.

I guess it's why we have horse races.... :D
Here's my personal opinion: The red FZ6's seem to suit carbon fiber and/or black add-ons better than the blue ones....the blue ones seem to suit "bling" better than the red ones. For example, the red ones look great with carbon fiber exhausts, while the blue ones look great with bright Stainless or Aluminum exhausts. More red on the red ones doesn't seem to work...i.e., a red seat cowl and under fairing just look "too much" to me on the reds....more blue on the blue bikes looks terrific.
Lots to be said for a black one. ;)

So what is your vote dark smoke, or light smoke? on the blue?
