I have a 105 mile round trip commute every day. Mostly highway. I consistently pull 48 mpg. When traffic is bad and speeds keep around 60 mph I can get 53 mpg. When traffic is light and I am able to cruise at a smooth 80-85 mph, I get 46 mpg. I have never seen anything less than 45 mpg and that was ripping through some country streets on a weekend. I fill up every day and reset the trip odom and calculate my mileage constantly. I have noticed that when the oil is a little long in the tooth (ie. 3000-3500 miles) the mileage starts to take a nose dive. Change the oil and mileage skyrockets to low fifties and then settles to high forties for the next 3000 miles until it needs changing again.
