Painted My Exhaust finally

Gave it to a friend since he paints. He didn't have Matte so i said what the hell and said to use the gloss he had. Here are the pics, i like it much better than the original silver. I didnt feel like painting the actual pipes like some of you guys do. Im too lazy to do that.

Finally, someone who didn't unnecessarily paint their plastic exhaust cover with "high heat paint"! It always made me chuckle when people would use BBQ paint on their exhaust covers thinking that this piece of plastic would get hot enough that it required high heat paint....

Thanks. Yeah i think he used dupont in his spray gun then a few coats of clear.

they look nice. this is something i've been contemplating doing. it's not high on the list, but i'm thinking about it. i don't like the bbq matte black. but i'm not sure i'm sold on the gloss. maybe a satin/simi-gloss for me.

regardless, it looks great. thanks for sharing.

oh, and i'd like to know what that gloss looks like in a few months. one of the reasons i'd be scared to do gloss is wondering how it'd hold up over time/show scratches and things.

I too did this. However, I left the tips silver. I think it looks much better than stock and cheap to do.

I really like the look with the tips left silver and the matte black. Just need to see if I can find some paint in Italy. Did you guys remove the exhaust to paint it?

I decided to give this a go as well. Here is a little before and after.




Also painted the little radiator covers that were silver as well. I think it looks good but I'm sure it will need some occasional touch up.
