Ok set up.

4 way intersection two lanes each direction. No turn lanes. The lights are set up rotate to the right. One direction has a green the 3 others have a red.

I am along side a asshat in a white lifted chevy truck. Blaring rap with a cell stuck to his ear. Leaned over in the seat like a jackass. I am fast lane left. He is slow lane right. We are the only two vehicles traveling this direction. (for Charlie KFC on left, Bashams on right) We get the green. We both take off easy and I am obviously visible to anyone who is even paying a passing attention at the road. We cross the road and both lanes are full oncoming with stopped vehicles. No signal, no reason, no one exiting taco bell, dude just comes left on top of me. I am on the horn jog left as close to oncoming stopped as physically possible, then hard on the brakes. . His freaking mirror knocked the **** out of my shoulder. It still hurts. He just drove off. I kept it up. Pulled off and calmed down.

Fing stupid cagers and thier fing cell phones. If I had messed up, I would of been run over, or squashed between two vehicles. Fing Cagers!!!!!! :shakehead::thumbdown: Fing stupid ass cell phone talking cagers. Dude came withen inchs of killing me, talking on his stupid freaking cell phone, couldnt even use his turn signal because then he would have to remove his stupid freakng cell phone from his ear. Glad you are okay bro. I live and work in a college town so I see it all of the time. I almost got plowed on I-85 this A.M. by a woman talking on a cell phone!

This should be reported to the police as hit and run- had you been in a car with less space to give, there would have been a collision and a police report, no? His vehicle struck you. This guy sholdn't get off scott free, and don't assume it wasn't intentional- big truck vs little bike thing. People who drive like that deserve some repercussions.

I just called.
The dispatcher said " you will have to come back into the city to make a report. I said ok. She said did you get the lic plate. I said no he just took off. She said there is really nothing we can do without the lic plate number. You can make a report though but with out the lic plate we cant prove it. I was very nice and thanked her for her time.

Dude sorry to hear about the stupid cager. So glad to hear that you were able to keep from real disaster.

They just passed a hands free cell phone law in CA on 7/1. We'll see if that helps any. The f*cked up thing is that it doesn't make texting while driving illegal.

Steve, when I first came to Kentucky and the first day I went for a ride I came into town on 3 Springs Road. I made the left on to Scottsville and there was traffic as it was right around 5:00. Being from California this was no big deal and I split traffic all the way up to Campbell Lane. The light was red at Campbell Lane and I was right in between two raised trucks. the light turned green and color me gone. Just a bit further into town on Scottsville Road there was this guy with a black and white car and these funning looking blue lights on it that pulled me over. This was no big deal right? I hadn't broken any speed laws but I guess you can't split traffic in Kentucky. The first thing the officer said was "I might have known you were from California." He said ya'll can't do that around here. I said, "do what"? He said you can't go up the middle like that. I said, you're not serious and he told me it was a $150 fine. As it turns out he rides and was stationed at San Diego while in the Navy. He told me how folks here can't drive and what to look out for. Two years later I can say that guy, who only gave me a warning, gave me enough information to last a life time.

I don't go into Bowling Green much at all however, when I get into a situation like you did, I don't stick around either because these folks are flat nuts and what happened to you is a perfect example. That light goes green and I am gone, period. I want my own space and that cager being anywhere near me is a problem I eliminate very quickly and without hesitation. Glad you're ok and it's too bad you couldn't have got even a partial plate. I do however know it's not easy to do when you are about to be cage bait.

I'm making a left off an off ramp, she's infront of me right turn signal on in the far right side of the lane so I go to the left and stop directly beside her. just as I start to release the clutch she guns it and makes a tight left crossing what would have been my line. I threw my hand up and she doesn't even look. I guess she was too busy with the cell glued to her head... stupid cagers!!!

I hear you man. I decided against the I am POOF I am gone at intersections in BG because of the Its not red, its orange and I am special folk. Thats one of the worst about people blasting thru. Its 6 of one way to get mashed and half dozen of the other here.

I wish the police would go crazy on red light runners instead of speeding. 10 mph over on a dry sunny day, is a hell of a lot safer than a 6000 lb battering ram thru cross traffic. One ticket is 180$ on is 50$ One ticket has thousands invested in radar, the other just needs a police officers eyes. What do they enforce?
I know its not the police. They are the good guys. They have to do as they are told.

That lady was killed yesterday in the same kind of scenario on the interstate. 23 years old. Lady that ran her into oncoming left. They havent decided to file charges or not yet. WTF OVER?

My coworker got ran off the freeway last weekend by some idiot who merged right into his lane. He went way off into the gravel and ruined a CBR1000, and Mr. Oblivious just kept driving off into the sunset.

Maybe I'm ignorant here, but I usually notice the sound of something hard hitting the side of my car.

Glad to see that you used the horn. You should have followed the dude and get his plate number. Hit and run! I wouldn't confront the guy because you never know these days. Guy could have a gun or something. Not only people are on the phone, I'm noticing more and more at red lights that a lot of the drivers have their phone in their hands or lap, expecting a text or getting ready to text.

good to hear youre reaction time and skills saved the day. but how did you not get the lisence plate if you managed to keep the bike upright? you were still moving in the same direction as him were you not? or did you stop as you were shaken up (understandably)?

i would have fought thru and used the adrenaline to chase him down, jump in his trailer, claw my way up to the driver door, punch thru the glass, yank him out, and throw him into a tree at 80+ kph. Then drive over him with his pickup. then steal his pickup. then sell it and use the money to take his wife to hawaii for some scandalous times. haha

I was shaking, and have ingrained it into my head to pull over. I am a hot head sometimes. If I dont make rules for myself I can act like a ass quick. I just stopped and settled down, then got something to eat. Also KY is CCDW state. You never know who else is packing heat. I dont get to act a fool. The state will take mine away. Its best to just chill. I have been working very hard on remaining calm and collected. Still wanna shove his phone up his butt though. that face first followed by this one for a week till it came back out

Glad you're ok. If you see that truck around somewhere get the plate # and call in again and make a report. Tell them you already called in but then saw the truck go by again and got the plate number.

Here's what you can do next time:

1) Make sure you get their license plate number
2) Pull out a flamethrower and burn that truck into a raging pyre
3) When the driver gets out (completely engulfed in flames at this point) you may:

-Whip out an MP7 machinegun and shoot the living **** out of him

OR

-Draw out a Japanese ritual-katana and slice-off the guy's arm and drive off.
(Personally, I like to add a bit of flare and use a scythe instead! But to each their own...)
