hey guys! so, im new hoping to make a FZ6 my 3rd bike, and seriously planning to give it the fz1naked treatment.
resume on FZ6 knowledge, basically all book knowledge, havent ridden one yet, my meager knowledge comes from reading damn near every review on every modern (and some older) middleweight naked bike and supermoto. you would be surprised how much time you have when you dont have a motorcycle to ride.
as a kind of obsessive guy, i have even researched many difficult expensive mods to bikes i dont own yet and i definitely get carried away.
here are my first two bikes.
1984 yamaha virago 500
good looking bike, but had some bent parts when i got it and the engine had been fairly thrashed.(hence the motobars) fast for a 500 cruiser though, revved to 8500 and could hit a solid 100mph.
sold for a car, good decision, but by this time i had been hooked.
1984 honda XL600R
truly a barn find. next door neighboor had it and gave it to me after it didnt run for 8 years and he had had damn near everything replaced or rebuilt. i put 500 bucks into it, but eventually fixed the main problem with 3 cents of electrical tape on a intermittently grounding killswitch wire.
duh. ran like hell, and the day i sold it to get money for a different bike, i took a header down a flight of stairs with my mountain bike and fractured both elbows.
months later, arms are healed, most of the money is gone, but the desire to ride two wheels is back in force!
hope i can join you guys as an fz6 owner/rider/mechanic and mods man soon!!
