Thought I would share my new luggage setup.
The DW and I are heading from Huntsville, AL to Helen, GA in July and I needed somewhere to pack some clothes for the trip. I hate wearing a backpack when I ride, so picked up the Cycle Case saddlebags and tail bag.
First impression upon arrival was "oh crap, they aren't going to work, they touch the mufflers". Well, after some reading on the forum and some tinkering, I came up with a system to keep them off of the mufflers. I cut some PVC pipe, painted it black and wrapped about a 2" strip with sticky-back felt. I then pushed them onto the pillion foot pegs and secured them to the passenger hand-holds using those velcro strips like you put around extension chords.
The whole setup is very secure. I have made two interstate trips with no issues. The PVC pipes support the bags and keep them an inch or more from the exhaust pipes.
