I just got my new 07 Fz6 and road it home today not much fun in 30 degree weather. But it handled great I was just woundering if anyone had any problems with theres or little issues I might want to know about. Glad I found this forum.

Congrats on the bike, I bought mine a couple months ago and have only got to put 140 miles on it, once again winter is getting in the way.

Welcome to the forum, Ride lots and post often.

Oh yeah and get some pics up to show us your new baby!

So this is my first sport bike, I used to riding my virago 250. What gear do you all use when riding in town say like 40mph or so. Or what rpm range do you use.

welcome aboard!!! I tend to putt in fourth, as far as problems there hasn't been any real problems with the FZ6 that I can recall.

Welcome! I also just got my '08 and racked uped about 130 miles so far from commuting to work. Around town, for cruising I put it in 4th at 40mph for about 4k rpm. I am still breaking mine in, so not really pushing it.

Welcome and congrats on the bike!

To your question about any issues: when I picked up my brand new '07, the clutch switch was disconnected, so I HAD to have it in neutral to start the bike. I think there is a few threads on here if you do a search.

Just saying it because that is the very first issue I had with my bike. I stalled at a stoplight on the way home from the dealer because it was cold out, the bike wasn't all the way up to temp, and it was new to me and there were cars behind me when I figured out I had to put it in neutral.

I plugged in the connector into the clutch perch and its been great. Just something to check

Hey man,

welcome to the forum. I just joined recently, right after I bought myself a brand new 2007 FZ6 S2 Fazer. It's still at the dealership unfortunately, it's a couple more weeks before I'll have my licence.

You'll have heaps of fun on that bike, but take your time to learn slowly. Happy riding!

I usually use 2nd or 3rd at that speed, the bike really likes to be revved, I try to keep it between 7000 and 9000 RPM so I have a good amount of power if I need it without shifting. Rev it to this level once you are comfortable with doing so and you will realize the true fun of the bike. 12,000 RPM might seem high, but spend some time there and you will never leave......

welcome to the Forum! I have not seen any major issues with these bikes here or on any other forum. They are well built machines and that reputation was my deciding factor in my purchase.

Where in WI are you?

I'm in wausau. I am having a blast on the bike I got 240 miles on it so far just driving around. Big difference between this and my bike with a v-twin. This bike really likes the high rpm I found it shifts better for me around 6k and up. Normaly on the other bike I was shifting around 3k. I will get some pics soon. I need to order my frame sliders and FE kit yet. Not sure what else to change.

Paulallender: You have a beautiful modified FZ6. Nice tank mod, nice cans! And the Pazzo levers...are they all like that?

Those levers rocks, I think I might need to get a set. On a side note what kind of jacket would you all recomend, I need to get a new one. I'm not much into the leather ones. This is the helmet I'm getting to replace my old one. Ride Icon might get the matching racket to.

Ok update over 400 miles now that the weather is getting better, yeah i am having a blast on this bike the power it has is nuts (well compared to the 250 i rode before). I keep hitting 45 50 before i even realize it and then have to slow down. Hit the highway a few time got the bike up to 90 so far. At high rpms this bike is fun. Can't seem to figure out what 5th and 6th gear are for though 4th works pretty good on the highway. Don't know if anyone else noticed but on mine at about 4k you can here the transmission, even when sitting in netural with the clutch out i can hear it but clutch in its gone. The bike rides fine and i Have the YES plan for 4 years so I am not worried it's probably a normal thing.

Hey thanks, Ive still some more things to do to it, it looks better now its got Rizoma Dynamic black mirrors on. If you asking about the levers, yes they are all like that (the ones i saw were atleast) apart from the handle lengths.
