I have located a good looking used 2009 Blue FZ6 and have been very fortunate that one of the forum users was the previous owner who volunteered information on his old bike.
I really like the bike and have my mind set on purchasing it, but I think the price is still a bit high. I have a new bike $6800 otd and would like a used bike to be at least $1k cheaper.

The info on the used 09 FZ6
- showroom condition
- has received a 60 pt inspection
- 3710mi
- aftermarket Romatech stainless steel radiator grille ($85)
- aftermarket high-end ASV levers ($260)
- never downed
- no history of trouble
- kept on battery tender
- $4770 paid to previous owner for trade in
I currently have them at $6k otd down from 6400ish but would like to try for $5500.

I plan to contact the dealer with the following offer:
$5700 otd plus I still need to purchase all my gear & i'll pick it up today.
This would still leave the dealer with +-$1000 markup plus the cost of my gear. I feel this is more than fair considering my 6hrs of driving (round trip) & lack of warranty (30 days only 50-50 i.e. I pay half).

I would like to walk away from this purchase with a good deal; not necessarily a great bargain.

What all should I mention to the dealer that might help my case? Do I hint at the fact he market it up $1300? etc.

Opinions please! (brutally honest opinions welcome)
