Weather finally good enough...Dude,(yes, I grew up in socal) the weather is never bad:BLAA:

Its been proven that blue has the macroteleflexsymposium element that amplifies, then reverses the friction quotia, resulting in higher velocities.

Red is faster, definitely. You'd have to ask my husband (whose bike is black) how I know this, because I'm not telling. :D

Absolutely! Hey Lytehouse, just curious how your FZ1 compares to the 6.

MotoJoe, last weekend it rained (I know, hard to believe!) and with the time change it was dark when I was getting home from work. Today was the first chance for a decent photo op!

I had a friend many years ago who said anything yellow was waterproof and she cited rain coats and rubber ducks.... I don't know what this means in the speed debate, but maybe I am all systems go to ride in the rain????
 
Black transcends all, even the speed of light. Owners of the Raven bikes have no need to prove anything, we just let the "lesser" red, blue and silver bikes futilely debate what is already a foregone conclusion. Metallic black is the sexiest and fastest.

Nice bike. I got mine 2 1/2 months ago and have put 3,000 miles on it. One day I'll go back home to SoCal with it and ride the coastline, mountains and desert.

Well, with the FZ6 there was alot of vibration....my right hand was constantly going numb. And for me, (5'3") being able to lower the FZ1 was a huge plus, something that's not as easily done on the 6.
John & I are taking longer trips on the bikes too, and the FZ1 definetly has the power to handle our mountain passes with ease.

Erci has a thread on his comparrisons between the 2 bikes also....just a search away :thumbup:

I changed out my handlebars to some Renthal's and the numbness that I also felt with the stock bars are gone. The bike does buzz or vibrate, yes. I believe everyone with an FZ6 experiences that. I feel it most in the left foot peg. Doesn't bother me though.

I'm 13 inches taller than Lytehouse. If anything the bike is too low. Might move on to a Triumph Tiger someday, or maybe one of those BMW's.

The numbness you alleviated by swapping out stock bar was due bar angle. If anything, there's more vibration with any aluminum bar, but normal angle makes a huge positive difference.

I can definitely ride FZ1 longer without feeling any discomfort due to buzzing.. there's very little of it. I didn't have major problems on FZ6 either, but I remember shaking off my hands sooner and more often on FZ6.. same handlebar on both bikes (FZ1 bar).

75% of my FZ6 buzz disappeared when I adjusted the throttle bodies...I'm curious if you ever did that?

Also I know the FZ1 has more power but being a smaller person there is no way the FZ6 would have any problems handling any road in the country due to a lack of power. I'm a horse jockey rider weighing in at 140 lbs and the FZ6 could out accelerate a 400 hp car going up the steepest hill I could find.

I adjusted / balanced / synced my throttle bodies a few weeks after the bar change. And yes, it was the stock bar angle that was causing the discomfort. I weigh in around 200lbs. The bike in 2nd gear gets to 90mph real quick if you let it sing and will out-accelerate most cagers, not that I've tried. :rolleyes: Just have to be careful as the front tire will lift on you. Most of my back road rides I can stay in top gear until we hit the 90 degree, 30mph turns. It has plenty of grunt.

No on the throttle body.....and you have to keep in mind that altitude does make a differnce. My steepest hill.............
(and I'm not saying the fz6 couldn't handle this, but the fz1 does it with ease)
