First I'd like to say this "How To" is more of an exercise on my part on how to work and take pics that are usable with a "How To" thread. That being said I think these pics would help get the job done and I hope someone gets a lil use out of them.

First you'll need to remove your seat.

Now remove the single allen bolt holding the left side (as seated) tail trim on.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34985&stc=1&d=1302653927

Remove the tail trim to access the turn signal and tail light wire connections.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34986&stc=1&d=1302653927

Unplug these connectors.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34987&stc=1&d=1302653927

Press to unlock the snaps on the wire cover and remove it.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34988&stc=1&d=1302653927

Remove these 2 allen bolts under the muffler
and 2 bolts (only 1 in pic) between muffler and turn signals.

Looks like only 6pics allowed per post so there will be a part 2.....below

Part 2

Your stock fender will now drop down carefully fish out the wires.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34990&stc=1&d=1302654901

This is what your pile of parts should look like at this point
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34991&stc=1&d=1302654901

Mounting the new fender is easier done before putting lights/plate back on.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34992&stc=1&d=1302654901

Separate turn signals, tag light, and plate from the stocker.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34993&stc=1&d=1302654901

When replacing the wiring be sure to zip-tie it safely away from the muffler.
http://www.600riders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34995&stc=1&d=1302655021

After reconnecting the light plugs,

Stay tuned for part 3

Silly question but does everybody get chain oil up over the exhaust and upper tail of the bike?

never had that with another bike- is it a poor design? I am sure I am putting no more chain oil on this bike than any others

I get lumps of tar from the road and bits of oil. It's a killer to keep clean if you don't stay ontop of it. Which unfortunately I dont. :(

I am also having this issue, I cant tell by your pics how you mounted the stock signals

Edit: I see your FE kit is different than mine, it looks like you have the same mounting hole that is on the stock fender for the turn signals, mine is a 3/8" hole slotted about 1/2 an inch vertical... now I am really confused, I wonder how anyone would be able to mount a stock light with this type of mounting hole

LOL ummmmm in actuality... my FE kit is TOTALLY WRONG! will not even fit into mounting holes...

Did you have a pain in the @ss time removing the two bolts right/left of the stock fender (half way covered by exhaust)? I don't know if its a '09 thing or something slightly different perhaps the way the dealer put my bike together...

That took 50% of the time alone... could barely fit any wrench, key, tool in there...

I thought of having my 3 yr old sitting on the bike too for a final pic, but I didn't want the NY authorities knocking on my door the next day :Flash:.

Yes they were a PITA i found if you loosen them then wiggle the fender while turning em with your fingers they come off pretty easy. I had to take em off and put em back a dozen times so i had to find a better way too. Hope you read this before its too little to late.
