Review.
Yeah old Dennis Hopper has passed on and I didn't mean to be offending his good name here, God bless ya Den.
Well leaving the pavement on the longest wheelbase Honda ever built on a Saturday morning in busy Elizabeth Street Melbourne is no mean feat. Especially when you are used to the highly nimble FZ6.
But, rest assured comrades, this is a CHOPPER and I knew it would be different to move. I had also read a few road tests on it and it came with impressive reviews.
Firstly it has a light clutch and it clunks into first easier than the Fazer. No tacho as such so just listen to the negine on gear changes. I stalled it twice at the lights leaving the city centre. WTF? Easy, just load her up, this baby weighs in at 310kg, give her some revs baby!
Once moving she handles like a dream. 5 gears means less changin' and I rarely used third in the city. Hit the highway and whoops, I'm like doin' 120kph and wonder, 'am I in top?' Clutch in and shift up and oh, Now I AM IN TOP GEAR!!!!!
Returning to the city I stopped at the lights an looked in a shop window, wow this baby is a chopper and looks great. Talking of looks, I got plenty, mind you, you do get some on the Fazer as well.
At $19,000 on the road, I am thinking about it. I already have a couple of Harleys and I think I would probably ride the Honda more.
Check it out, one day you will be as old as me and in a mid life crisis too.
Cheers,
Rumps
