In my search, I see only solutions for '07 and up mirror block off plates. Any suggestions for covering the ugly nastiness on my '06?

Really??? Where did you see the ones for 07+?

When I searched, I saw that R1/R6 block offs work on '07 and up. On the '04-'06, the windshield is involved.

I am considering getting the R6 plates and fabricating a cover, but I really have no interest in hacking something together.

Well I purchased THESE just for the heck of it to see if they fit, and they do. Only thing they say R1, but havent had anyone comment on them yet. They look purty good, get ride of the nast hole left by using bar end mirrors. Here is a pic of mine
