The AMA races were taking place the 12-14 and they were also holding trackdays the following monday and tuesday so I thought I do one. It's been 5 years since I was on a racetrack last so I was excited to get my feet wet again. Turns out I knocked off 8 seconds from my previous times for a 1:40. I gotta say having a proper shock in the back (Ohlins) makes a huge difference in grip on acceleration. I knew it would but the difference was really night and day.

Looks like a great weekend! Hopefully next year the timing works out for me to head down for that.
This coming weekend are the vintage bikes! Anyone going?

Awesome! A 1:40 is a very respectable time around M-O. I have literally 10's of thousands of laps around there and that is getting around there very good especially after a 5 yr break. Nice job! AND, it didn't Rain!!! Good for you and happy you had a great time!

Hey I bet you know lizard then, lol.

Yeah I'm amazed myself. The irony doesn't stop there. I went out telling myself "this is just for fun, relax you're not training to race." Turns out what everyone has been telling me for years is true. Just relax and stop worrying about laptimes and all that. I have the bike built about as good as you can for an fz6 and it also made a huge difference. I used to have major brake fade and a rear end that was everywhere and always on the verge of highsiding me. Now I have lines, RBF660, racetech up front and ohlins in rear. Plus my takeoffs were almost new. And I'm guessing the AMA being there helped the grip quite a bit.

All I know is I was smiling like a goon from the keyhole to 8 from the amazing grip and braking power I was getting. WOT out of there was utterly impossible for me last time. Now I couldn't break the rear loose even when I tried :D
