Mew mirrors on my bike today

I like them but something has been bugging me about them, besides the whole shorter-stalk-can't-be-better-view thing....

They look like some type of animal ears but I can't think of which one!

Still cooler than the stock stalks.

cat ears? I took mine off and put the stock ones back on. The short ones look so much better, but I just could not see with them.

On the stockers I aim the mirrors to be less than 'optimal' to compensate for elbows. I shift the right hand one to give me mostly rear view and the left one to view the left lane. It leaves a bigger blind spot on my right side than 'optimal' but at 'optimal' position I have to move my arms constantly to see anything. Its a trade off but I feel that being able to glance and see most of my surroundings is better than having to move my arms to check anything. I just make sure I headcheck longer when going right.

That is the exact same mirror config I used with the stocker. I also have two blind-spot eliminator convex mirrors. I'm surprised at some people not relying on their mirrors. I'd always do a head check when changing lanes for the blind spot, but turning your head all the way around to see what was 20 feet behind you in the next over lane would take your eyes off the road too long. Need to rely on mirrors for that.
