Me&My FZ6 hit the drag strip for the first time

awesome job!!! 11.8's are impressive!!!!!! I'm thinking third gear near redline at the other end???

i added a new video with an on board view of my third run,,, i was at the end of 4th at 13k rpm...probably would have done it in 3rd if i had the standard front sprocket..

all they require is gloves, jacket and a dot/snell approved helmet...i had my jeans and sneakers on :)

Awesome run! Looks like a blast! Thanks fro taking the time to make these videos and share them!:rockon:

Dude, that was awesome, exactly what I wanted to see!! What was the reason for slightly short shifting 1-2 shift though? I have found that approx 13,000 seems to be the sweetspot with my bike. They are all different though. Awesome vids man! I will be putting my new 15T sprocket on alot sooner now. All I need is to find a track that allows you to race without needing full leathers and a lanyard kill switch.

yea you are right,,i havent realized that until i watched the video myself when i got home,,,probably too excited to be there :)

on the other hand ive heard that the carry on the maximum acceleration the perfect spot is at 12k rpm,,

i didnt have chance to try and master these launches at the strip, will definitely do it again soon,,,try to get better at it,,,to me it seems and feels like 13k is better ,too

as for a drag strip near you,,,i dont know if you have asked them already the days that are dedicated for test and tune's usually dont require leathers,,,jeans are ok but you gotta have boots that would cover the ankles...they didnt even ask about the boots for this event...protective jacket, gloves and helmet were the reqd equipment

That is sweet. I want to go and give it a run. I am a total rookie. I live in Fowlerville not to far from there, think I can tag along when you go and run a few? I think we have the same bike year and color too.

Rob,

After looking once again at the last vid you posted, I noticed you blew away the competition. GO GO TOLGATT. Do you remember what the other bike was. He popped a wheelie twice the first few seconds.

I will have to check, I know Maple Grove is strict on safety when it comes to cars for sure, and all the motorcycle racers have full leathers on bracket racing days. There is Cecil County in Maryland which is usually the easiest tech I have ever seen. Is your track NHRA sanctioned? I believe there are a few up there that are.
