Lost my temper on the way home

Lol! Yep we sure do. Nice detective work....bet you guys dont know what a "Holden" is either? is what we call General Motors in Australia. Ford is still Ford in Australia though.

I think that situation would have made just about anyone lose their temper.
Your lucky he wasn't really as malicious as his driving was implying, he might not of backed off. We all know a bike is no match against a car.
Hopefully this guy will understand he caused that dent himself, and it will remind him not to try to recklessly endanger others just because he is able to.

I figured out that driving on the left side of the road thing, since everyone on that side of the planet drives upside down anyways. And I'm familiar with what Holdens are. But I don't think I've ever heard of a push-bike, those are kind with pedals right?

Well, it was a bonehead move from the car driver for sure! I used to get it a lot in the UK when I was filtering... people would just move their cars 2 feet into the path of bikes when they saw them coming.
It is arguable in UK law at least, that a car can be used as a 'lethal weapon'. If the driver moved over with an intend to impede you, or to cause you injury, he was in effect enacting 'assault with a deadly weapon', or 'assault with intent'... I say that in the face of this, your actions were totally understandable.
Glad you were ok, and hope you didn't scuff the boots!

I really thought I would get flamed for what I did , but thought I would tell you all anyways.Yes I was doing the wrong thing but that is no excuse for someone to try and knock you off.After a good long sleep I feel more relaxed this morning and having the day off to look after my youngest son.
Lane filtering is a gray area of the law here , I have asked a couple of police officers and got a different answer every time, so they don't even know !

I can't blame you bro... I did something similar:
I was on a 4 lane highway in the far left lane late at night, and the road was basically empty. I was approaching a small SUV (honda CR-V) that was in the second from the left lane, I am doing about 10mph faster her. As I am about to pass the rear corner of the SUV, I am staring in her left mirror to see if she see's me, she looks right at me and then suddenly moves into my lane. I hit the brakes and drop back, barely missing her. So now I move right one lane and begin to pass her again. SHE LOOKS AT ME IN THE MIRROR AND DOES IT AGAIN!:spank: Now I'm pissed. I drop back deciding what I want to do about it. I click down a few gears, twist the wrist. As I approach her from directly behind her (so she won't know which side I am going to), I swing left around her car and stick my right boot out and take off her outside mirror

I think any of us that has been riding for a long time, has taken off a mirror in frustration at a car drivers lack of respect, or awareness, at some time in their riding "life".
Dont think Car drivers quite realise the potential consequences of their actions sometimes, one touch from a car, no matter how minor, could spell the end for any of us at any time.
And affirmitive action is the only way that some Car drivers may sit up and take notice.
Non of us will feel comfortable with such an action, but hey, when your life is threatened, we tend to react both swiftly, and with a strong self defence mechanism.

What actually made me upset with this driver is that she made it look like she was doing it intentionally, TWICE! What a b!atch!!:spank:

Man I would have done the exact same thing and prepare myself to do so. People trying to be heros is the problem. Here in canada is illegal to lane split but i do it or do what you did and go down the shoulder when im stuck in rush hour at a dead stop. Granted it's illegal but thats for the cops and the courts to decide. They don't pull a citizens arrest or cut off someone in the process of speeding. They are just punks that are jealous that we are riding and get to reap the benefits of doing so.
I stand ready to give the boots to someone everytime I do something like that. The best is when they try to cut you off and you get in behind them, then rip beside them and then back right in front of them. that or you just cruise by waving:Flip:

Scary thing is...it most probably was very definitely intentional. I have had cars move over on me, when lane splitting through a row of stationary vehicles, have also had someone stick their arm out, but the worst would be them opening their door...which has happened to a friend of mine...Jealousy is a curse, and sometimes, downright dangerous.

Fortunately, lane splitting is legal here in California. (Can't tell you how many times I've made it to work on time because of it.) But if someone ever opened their door on me, they'd better pray they kill me or at least knock me unconscience. Cause at that point, it's game on!

I have had this happen also , back when I lived in Tassie.
Lot of that stuff happening nowadays. People having a bit of a lark...until they get road raged. At the moment in Adelaide there is so much road work going on that people are getting even more impatient than normal. Add the show to that and this week is bound to be an absolute horror. Hang in there:thumbup:. They aren't all idiots and bad drivers. I think there are three that are ok....LMAO. I too got peeved with an attempted murder a while back. No head turn/indicator lane change trick. (You know the one) On the horn immediately....still coming. Cement wall to the right, car to the left, tail gater behind and a red light up ahead. Punched the guys window next to his head. That got his attention. Gave him heaps at the lights. Some days it just gets you.

She was more than that. She was a down right :tard:. What she did could have easily killed you if she made contact. What you did in retaliation was the least that you could have done.

Thanks, I felt pretty justified in my actions and frankly didn't feel guilty in the slightest after doing so. Usually after doing something that negative, I feel guilty immediately afterward, but not this time.:thumbup:
