I outsource all of my bike work to Mexico or China. My hands stay clean while I sip on my mocochino and observe through my bay window while my trophy wife cooks me bacon.

This has probably been posted, but when I was an auto mechanic I never wore gloves. I'd work with bare hands and scrub my nails with a nail brush and soap every night after I got home, that gets the nails pretty clean.

These days I use latex gloves when I clean the chain; it keeps my hands really clean and that's a pretty dirty job. The only problem with rubber gloves is that you lose tactile sensation and they can tear. So for very involved jobs I work with bare hands and clean them the old fashioned way when I'm done.

I use Kresto EF hand scrub. It's got the biodegradable grains in it that really work the grease off. Soap and water, paper towel - repeat until your hands are clean. I find it works like a charm.

You can find similar items at autozone or home depot/lowes, etc.
