There was a similar story in my home town last year.

Luckily neither the guy or the kid died, but he was incredibly irresponsible to do this with his kid on the bike...

A friend of a friend was driving in philly and some guy cut him off so he gave the guy the finger. The guy then emptied a clip from a handgun into the side of the car hitting the driver in the head but missing his daughter in the backseat.

Don't give people a reason... you just never know.

Once again this brings up the question of "what is the appropriate response."

On the one hand if you confront a cager you are likey to end up in a worse situation but if no motorcyclist confronts any cager then they will continue to live in a bubble of ignorance The general ignorance of cagers puts us motorcyclists in more danger than dragging a knee through a curve on some country road.

I've been on both sides of this debate before, there is a post that I made where I chased a hearse but couldn't catch them so I was playing the role of angry motorcyclist, and then I've been in situations where I felt threatened or endangered by the actions of a cager and just drove on muttering curses to myself the entire way home.

In the situation where a cager does something irresponsible and dangerous I would be willing to guess that 9 times out of 10 if somebody took down there license plate number and called it in to the police then absolutely nothing would be accomplished.

All I can say is that until some common ground is reached, I will continue to drive with my mentality that CAGERS HAVE COOTIES and I don't have my cootie shot so I need to stay away from em.

You know I keep seeing alot of "motorcycle made an obscene jesture then changed lanes" stuff. I'm wondering how many of these "obscene jestures" are hand turn signals and the ignorant bastards think they're getting flipped off. A right turn hand signal could be misconstrued I guess if you don't know it actually is a legal signal. Eitherway who gives a **** if they do give you the bird honestly. You'll probably never see that person again. So silly.

I have flown around someone before to prove the point that they don't own the road and they need to open their eyes, but i have never been stupid enough to slam on my brakes while in front of a car, let alone a vehicle the size of a rolling house....:spank:

I remember (in a convertible) waving my hand between the seats to test how much air got through there and some guy got pissed and started honking at me on the highway to pull over and fight. I couldn't figure what his deal was until I did it again and noticed my middle finger was sticking up. I wasn't meaning to flip him off and I certainly wasn't going to stop and fight (as I'm no longer in highschool).
