300 miles ago, i bought my new black fz6. Saturday my buddy and I put on the exhaust and went out for a ride. Were getting off rt 309 and some old man cuts us off and slams on his brakes. We swerve back on the highway to avoid running up his a$$ and he cuts back in front of us. My front tire locks up, I take a header over the bars. The bike floats over me and up my friends back (he's on my old Suzuki GS 500). In the end, He's got a broken hand, road rash and is still in the hospital because he needs surgery on his hand, and I've got a broken foot, separated shoulder and an intimate relationship with road rash. FZ is twisted more than likely beyond repair, and the Suzuki if it weren't such a cheap bike to start with would be fixable, but for now, I'm bikeless, and beaten up. If it weren't for a helmet, I'd be splattered all over the highway. Upon going over the bars, I watched the pavement slam and scrape the hell out of my face shield.
Crashing is a surreal experience, try to avoid it!

that sucks, feel better man. i have personally seen 2 of my best friends crash hard. and there is nothing scarier than that.

Holy Crap! That sucks! Did the bastard stop? What was his excuse?

Hope you both heal fast!

Sorry to hear about your accident, good job you was wearing a helmet. I hope the bikes are salvagable (or insured) and I hope you both heal real soon.

I'm sorry to hear about the crash, but glad you are well enough to talk about it. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with the 08 FZ6, they don't seem to last more than a couple hundred miles as you are the 3rd one in a week to be bikeless. Hope you and your buddy heal fast.

His excuse was he was confused and didn't know where he wanted to be, he got charged with careless driving, but somehow we got hit with following too closely. I have to talk to the officer who file the report when she comes back on duty, because she also put in that i refused a breathalyser, automatic dui in Pennsylvania. I did no such thing.

Now it sucks even more! Sounds like she's got it in for bikers. Was someone else there the whole time with you or is it your word against hers? She better hope she has some proof.

Good luck and keep us posted!

damn....when it rains it pours. Glad you are ok. Wishing you and your friend a speedy recovery. Were you wearing full gear?? Hopefully you can get the cop thing all straightened out. Good luck.

sorry to here that kale, i hope all works out with you and your buudy. I hope you have a quick and painless recovery. Bikes can be replaced, your lives cant. You said it and nailed it on the head (no pun intended), "IF YOU DID'NT HAVE THE HELMET ON". So i hope all works out for the 2 of you.

sorry to hear that !! i think its that time of the year where the wheather turns nice, everyone is excited and most importantly the vehicles forgot how to behave around motorcycles after the long freaking winter,,,,there should be a better punishment for causing a motorcycle to crash!..

Sorry to hear, heal quick, something that is always in the back of mind, really dont want to experiance the surrealness. We will all be wishing for you with the police thing as well, really hope you can beat it.....

sorry to hear about your crash, hope the insurance takes care of you quickly and they fix the tickets the way they should.

Sorry to hear about the crash. It sounds like you fared worse than I did....maybe there is something about the '08 bikes that attracts other metal....Mine had about 150miles on it. Hopefully will be getting a new one soon. Good luck to you and your friend with healing....

sorry to hear about the accident, I totaled my FZ yesterday, so i know how that feels, and im babying a broken collarbone from my run in with some deer and a ditch.

Get well soon and i hope the insurance pulls through so you get a new bike!

Geeze... everyone's crashing their bikes :(
I'm glad you're not dead! Hopefully everything works out for you, and i hope you get that cop straightened out!

F'king A**hole. Cutting you once is bad enough but TWICE. Where's my 0.45 cal. Who was it that had a signature that said something like " If stupidity only hurts"?? Glad you're okay, sure you and your buddy will be out of commission for awhile but no permanently. Those bikes could be replaced in time but you can't, so again great to hear you're on your way to recovery. If you have pics to show all of us and especially to alot of new riders we would appreciate it. What could you have done differently? Take care and hope this doesn't deter you from riding again.

Sorry about your crash, but glad that you are still in one piece (so to speak). I hope you work things out with the cops. That is really adding insult to injury
