No they're not missing. I've got the battery out of the bike. I took those little side panels off when I lifted the tank. Didn't put them back on since I have to do it again to put the battery back in.

looks the same outside over here in NH, but it is also looking like 55 degrees on Sunday... I only wish my bike were accessible...
