As soon as I bought mine, an older friend who spent a bunch of years as an EMT started with the horror stories...his term for motorcyclists, ORGAN DONOR. Nice huh? In the beginning he actually made me question my desire to ride, but I stuck with it and try to never ride over my head. Life's too short to wrap yourself in bubble wrap and never take any risks. Ride within your limits, respect the bike, wear your gear, and treat every car on the road as a potential threat. That's all you can do.
Fuel injected suicide machine.
Are just start with very very graphic descriptions of people burning to death trapped in their car. Crushed to death by thier car. Eaten by alligators. I just dont take stuff well I guess.
I personally tend not to get any of that kind of aggravation from people
Ok Ok i'll be brave, you really should sell that bike mate they are dangerous :Flip: :rof: :rof:............Seriously though i know where you are coming from , i get all the time and its does get to me......
Like Wolfman said though , at least its shows you have people who care about you
I heard those comments the first few months I got my bike, but not much since. Funny how folks feel the need to tell you about the risks of motorcycles. What? You don't think I know? Here in the US, the yearly auto fatality rate is somewhere around 35k, but no one thinks twice about getting in a car.
I don't kid myself though, MOTORCYCLES ARE DANGEROUS. Based on US statistics, you're about 600 times more likely to be hurt or killed on a motorcycle than a car. But I'm an adult and responsible for my own actions.
I personally tend not to get any of that kind of aggravation from people except from my mum and she is exempt from criticism on 2 counts.
1. Mums are supposed to worry, it's in the job description.
2. She spent 2 months of giving me a weekly lift to and from the hospital while they fixed me up after an off.
I was 16 at the time, I'm 49 now and she talks like it was last week. Bless her.
