So my cousin and 4 of his friends flew from Paris to Vegas last Friday and are staying there for a week... they are big Texas Hold'em fans, so they try to make it to Vegas once a year for a poker marathon... so naturally, I joined them Friday night for a long tiring weekend 
I left work after noon on Friday and hit heavy traffic leaving LA... it took me 6hours instead of 4 to get there, but I made it... we went for dinner first, and directly to the MGM cash tables after that...
We picked a No-Limit $1-$2 table and sat down... I lost my first $100 in about 30minutes, so that wasn`t a good sign... I put another $100 down and played for 4 hours on that bill... finished at 3am with $500 in my stack. Ok, good first day with a respectable $300 profit
Saturday we hang out at the MGM pool for a couple hours and realized Mike Tyson was sitting outside of his private tent about 30 feet to our right... my french friends were tripping out lol
We played at the same tables on Saturday night and I end up losing $200...
Sunday, we decided to do an $80.00 tournament at 7:00pm at the MGM... 70ppl entered the tournament with 5 of us french guys... 2 of us made it to the final table, including me! I actually managed to win the tournament and made $1600!!! Stoked!!!
I`ve been playing Poker for a few years now, but not on a regular basis, so I did not expect to be able to pull it off against the local pros, but I was patient and played a strong poker game... I did hit a few big hands and got lucky here and there (you need it to win it!), but overall I am very happy with my performance!
Of course some of the winning money was used to party and take care of the french delegation, but after everything was said and done, I managed to get home with $1200.00 in my pocket as actual profit :cheer::rockon::cheer:

I felt like I was on TV when we got to the final table... it was awesome!
