Danny just informed me that one of his co-workers found out that she has ovarian cancer. :( By reading the symptoms and info on ovarian cancer, she's had it for about 2 1/2 to 3 years. 95% of women live for 5 years after being diagnosed, IF it is caught early and has not spread throughout the body. Unfortunately, it has already spread throughout her body, so she is in the late stages. She has been dealing with the pain for 2 years and not once, did she go see a doctor. I think she is giving up.....she gave Danny basically a fairwell hug. It's very sad. Please just pray for her any way you can. She doesn't really have anybody.....she's never been married and doesn't have kids.

Thanks all.

she doesn't have parents? Siblings?

Regardless, that is horrible news. My thoughts are with you and her, and whoever she has that loves her.

Tell Danny I am sorry to hear about this. I had a boss/friend who had this too. It is a horrible cancer, and I wish her the best. Prayer granted, for her, you & Danny. God Bless!

Her dad died 11 years ago.....she has never talked about her mom and I guess she has 2 brothers that live in San Diego, but I'm not sure if she speaks to them.

She wanted to call one of the girls from the office to see if she would go with her to the doctor today. :(

Prayers from NH! Why wouldn't she go to the Doc a long time ago? I hate Doc visits but I'm there if I think something is wrong and can be fixed.

We wish her the best in hopes that it's really not too late! God Bless!

Thoughts a prayers from NJ as well. i hope she pulls through it.

As some of you know my mom died from lung cancer last year, and only lived a couple months from the time she was diagnosed. She also lived with pain and mis-diagnosis for about a year and a half.

That is my question exactly! I don't know man.....maybe she was in denial.

Some people would rather sit in wonder than deal with the truth of it. My step-Dad was that guy. He "knew" when his last day was and no one caught on, just thought he was acting a bit strange, like showing up at his favorite bar after not drinking for 2 years to "Have one last beer for THE ROAD." Finishing odd little things around the house ( he never finished a project ) and calling a few people he never would normally call just to say he'd missed them. Then, he passed on later that day... It was surreal. He knew but wouldn't go to the Doc.

I hope it's not too late for her and she fights to live. Life is too short to not want another day here.

Thanks ant.....sorry about your mom, I couldn't imagine!

My mom's cousin died of ovarian cancer when I was 5. I still remember the day we visited her....I just stood in the doorway of her room, staring a her. She was sitting in a wheelchair, hairless and lethargic. She had gone to the doctor because she had a lump in her stomach....so she never felt any pain from it. They did exploratory surgery and it instantly spread throughout her body.....she lived 8 months after she was diagnosed.

I just got cold shivers reading that .

That was 13 years ago and I still have mixed emotions about it. To me, he basically commited suicide because he didn't act on a visit from Death himself. I loved the man, but I have strong feelings about how he departed us. He'd had a mild heart attack in the wee hours of the morning, suffered through the day with all these oddities, then had a massive heart attack followed by a bleeding stroke before hitting the hospital. If he'd gone in when the first attack happened, he might still be here today.

Instead, he simply did what he could to "tidy up" some loose ends then told Mama he was going to take a nap.

For some folks, I've seen them wait until the last minute, like they're prepared for the worst. But when that time comes, the worst is something far more scary than they want to deal with and they change their mind. This poor Lady sounds just like this. We can ONLY pray that she didn't wait too long and can be helped.

This just shows how very different we are as individuals. Myself? I'm going to fight to the very end. I enjoy life and want to hang out as long as possible. Earth is a rather screwed up place but in my little world, it's all going fine.

More prayers and best wishes from "down-under".

My Mother-In-Law was diagnosed with with "some abnormality" in her Ovaries many years ago (about 18years ago I think), they got it really early and she was operated on, still alive and kicking today.

I do hope Danny's workmate makes the most of what time she has left.

I am so very sorry to hear about your husband's co-worker. I cannot even imagine what this is like for her, and what she is going through. My thoughts and prayers go out for her at this difficult time.
