Does riding with sportbike ergos really take a toll? I've never ridden one. One one hand it seems it would be more comfortable since there's less windblast. However, I see often see sportbike riders riding with one hand off the bars and leaning up a little.

I think it has to do with a few things. One was my helmet and my jacket. I rode Cali rider's ZX6R and my gear was very uncomfortable. My back shield in the jacket rode up and as I tilted my head back for good vision the helmet hit the shield and I had to constantly give a lot of force backward in order to see my lines in the turns. This was all happening with a totally new bike with totally different ergos and at a faster pace than I wanted to experience the bike. So I slowed down and took responsibility riding my friends bike because my neck hurt and the ride just wasn't flowing. As it was, we came up on an accident and the ZX6R experience was interrupted.
Got a Shoei RF1100 which has better top vision through the visor so your not forcing your head as far back. Modified the back shield in the jacket so it didn't do the ride-up thing and life was totally different on a sport bike. The RF1100 was also much lighter than my other Helmet. I ride with a lot of peeps that have sport bikes and have gleaned a few different body positions that relieve discomfort and prolong your riding time. The more you assume those techniques the more comfortable you become riding a more aggressive position. It will never be as comfy as the FZ's but I noticed I felt no discomfort at all as I rode the twisties. I can't tell if it was because I was having so much fun or because I was constantly shifting body position.....

The other factors will be your personal body/physique, and the different ergo's on different bikes.

They're on! The job went very smoothly and the fit and finish where so good! When you look at how this has to be done on this bike, the tubing bends, pipe lengths and the can hangers are extremely precise. It was an easier job than the FZ6.
I haven't fired it up with the new pipes yet though and I opted for the P1X tips because TBR's are generally loud and I've heard the cans with the P1X tips and they sound great! As I've said earlier, The factory cans are UGLY!!!

If they're too small I have a larger dia. db killer from my other TBRs that I saved.

Maybe a video tomorrow but there are lots of video on these out there.

The stock pipes sounded pretty good but not as good as TBRs and the TBRs look so good. :rockon:

I was meaning the cans in general. The stock exhaust looked like, uhh, a couple big boxes of saltienes, and these look like pringles cans. Haha, I don't know how else to describe it. Might be the camera angles though, they don't look bad, the proportions are just a little off to me. Might be the pics though too.

+1 on the FE kit, that might be it too

I won't be able to ride Sat. unless I did an early morning, short ride.
I have Dunloop Sportcraps tires on this thing and they have to go. New 016's are on the way. I've also got only a few miles on the motor and want to get that massaged in. Are you using a 190 on the back? I do have an FE for it and maybe tonight I'll mount it...

Yes they look a lot sleeker than the ugly cans they had on it but they don't look to thin in real life, The cans are an additional 1/3 the length of the cans on the FZ6. I finally got the FE installed and it looks even better now. The FE is made by Competition Werkes and is a really nice stainless steel. I took the extra time to solder the wiring and finish it with shrink tubing and tape so it's secure and electrically sound instead of using those iffy wire taps....

Haven't really exploredthe motor's potential yet but from what I can tell I won't be disappointed.

Rode Montezoooooma today about 6 times. There's some kind of older bike festival going on in Borrego Springs. I saw all kinds of old Indians, Harleys, BMWs and I mean bikes with tires the size of bicycles tires!

Here's some picks from from a lookout half way down the mountain. I saw the guy (in the background) with the long beard headed in the opposite direction on the mountain and his beard was parted right in the middle and stuck out like two 2 foot hairy handle bars on each side of his face. I told him his beard was perfect for riding and he and his wife agreed. haha!

Edit: Oh Yeah! The exhaust, even with the P1X tips sounds awesome.

Sorry man....If it's any help Monty has been crowded lately There's this old bike fest and a big Jeep Jamboree going on near the Salton Sea so Monty's gotten crowded of late and added to that because people have been indoors when it rains, it seem they want to go to the desert afterward, not to mention this is the time Spring Bloom starts and you will see lots of traffic compared to what we've seen.
The tires hooked up better today but my 016's are in. Look forward to next Saturday! I'll get the new donuts on and scrubbed this week...
