How much MPG (or KPL) does your FZ6 get?

Consistent 51-53 MPG range, for the last 4,xxx miles. That includes canyon carving and commuting in a docile-like manner :D

I´ve been reading a lot of replies on people that really DO control their revving temptation! Keeping RPMs mostly low! I admire this efficient way of using your bike!

Maybe experience´ll make me do that too! :spank:

If you don't believe me it's fine, (because I do not believe it myself), but my first two fill ups were 49.something and 48.5 in that order! (Each time I ride it I have it over 100 mph briefly, and only after it's thoroughly warmed up)
I'm blown away by the mileage!

Well I beleive you :) Way to go man!

Over the first 3 1/2 years of ownership (14,000 miles) I've averaged 59.02 mpg but over the last 2 years (aprox 8,000 miles) I've averaged 62 mpg.

Mostly commuting miles, 2/3 highway and 1/3 in town, shift up early in the lower gears, rarely rev over 6,000 rpm or exceed 70 mph (indicated), keep tires at recommended psi and turn off the engine at long stop lights.

Ride safe,
Dave

I ride my 2009 FZ6 SHG every day to work and back...close to 10 km every day, full city with lots traffic jams...

I have measured between 14,9 km/lt and 15,1km/lt every time i fill up my bike (yes, i do it every time:D:D), so i'm very confident that it has has no engine problems...

One thing that would be good to mention is the altitude you ride every day, because mileage changes between sea level and 2500 mts high. When i go to the beach, i usually get 1 km/lt extra.

In my case, Santiago is at 650 mts high

I've tracked all the gas I've added to my bike, 44 mpg.

I'm 95% of the time on curvy, hilly, two lane backroads with the rpm's mainly between 4-8k. Fortunately a minimum number of stop signs.

I average VERY close to 50 pretty much no matter what. It has been above 70 degrees all riding season, I do 50/50 city/highway, I weigh 150# fully geared, I ride at barely over sea level, my bike is stock (plus water wetter and synthetic rotella) with 6k on the clock and I ride like a hooligan every chance I get.

My last tanks were:

45.82, 48.70, 48.97, 50.40, 48.49 and 49.33.

Running average since ownership: 48.58 mpg
Average price I paid per gallon since ownership: $2.30
Average fill-up cost since ownership: $7.75
Average cost per mile, minus maintenance and insurance: 4.7 cents

I hope that is definitive enough for you guys!

Oh, and for reference, the average cost per mile in my car (Honda Accord) since I have owned it is 9.2 cents.

I'm not even sure what I get, my reserve light comes on and I fill her up with premium with a smile on my face at how cheap it is.
I have a feeling its normally about 250km's at that point and its normally a 13-14ish litre fill up.
I don't ride that aggresively though to be honest and I do alot of commuting to work.

Taking a little advice from bits and pieces of this forum, I went slumming with some 87 Octane last week instead of premium. Same route to work, same riding style.... I actually upped my MPG from 45 to 49. We'll see if it's a fluke after some time.

I have always found my bike to be a bit thirsty.
I have a 23 Km (46 km total) commute to work on very nice fast roads. I run at about 8,000 - 13,000 rpm at speeds of 100 kph to 160 kph. There is also nice stretch where I have heard that you can get :spank:220 kph for .5 km. I am getting 200 Km (or there about) between fill ups. I put in between 15 - 17 liters of fuel.

L 17 = 200 km = 11.76 km/L

gal 3.74 = 124.27 = 33.22 mpg

gal us 4.49 = 124.27 = 27.67 mpg us

That does seem a bit thirsty, my commute is about the same, but slightly slower speeds and RPM, usually around 6,000 to 10,000. I normally go to around 230 km and fill about 15 L. My overall Km/L is 16.15.
