Headlight assembly - two questions

I am considering buying a second headlight assembly, so I can mod one of them to use HIDs and spray the reflectors black and still be able to revert to original when (if necessary). The Norwegian rules and regulations are quite strict, and I'm not sure if the HID conversion is legal here (actually, I suspect it is not). Hence I want a way to revert to original quickly and without having to wait for parts.

In my search for an extra headlight assembly, I found these two on Ebay:

Used 2004-2005: YAMAHA MOTORCYCLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY 2004/05 FZ6 Bike
New 2004-2009: NEW 2004-2009 Yamaha FZ6 Headlight Head Light OEM NEW

My questions regarding headlight assemblies are these:

1. Ref. the Ebay assemblies: Why would a new assembly cost considerably less than a used one (139.99 vs 185.95 US$)? OK, I could place an offer for the used one, but anyway...
2. Is the assebly identical for both S1 and S2 models? The fairings are quite different, but the internal headlight assembly may be identical...?

I went to Ron Ayers and the 2006 and 2008 FZ-6 list the same part number for the headlamp assembly so it looks like your good with both generations. The list price at Ron Ayers is $161.82
