Cheryl left for KY this morning. She will stay somewhere in OH tonight and be in KY by tomorrow night.

Here are a few pics of her starting on her trip.
 
Thanks for posting up the pics!! :thumbup: Next time you talk to her, wish her safe travels from her forum friends! And please keep us updated on her progress.
 
Spoke w/Cheryl and she is in OH after a 540 mile ride today. This is the most she's ridden in a day by herself. Next stop, her son and daughter in law's place in KY.

Nice way to spend the 4th with her son who serves our wonderful country!

Thanks Brenda. I'm sore! LOL Ibuprofen and icy hot are my two new best friends. I really need to get a TS seat!

470 miles for tomorrow and I will be in KY.

I couldn't get the bike on the centerstand with the bags fully loaded but a nice gentleman left his gas pump to come help me out.

I did have a minor mishap. I checked into the hotel and then rode the bike over to park in front of my room. Well I noticed at the last minute that the pavement was sloped toward the room (I'd never be able to push the bike back) so at the last minute decided to back in. I turned the wheel and like a newbie, I grabbed a handful of front brake. Guess I don't need to tell you what happened......so, another kind deed from a stranger.....the guy in the room next to me helped me pick the bike up off the pavement. With a fully loaded saddlebag and frame sliders, the bike is ok. It starts, the throttle seems to retract ok, nothing is bent or broken, mirror is secure, rear brake (that I SHOULD HAVE USED) is ok. Dumb move but I'm sure fatigue probably factored in.

The highlight of my day? Kind deeds from strangers means chivalry is not dead in America after all ladies!

I will be staying in KY from tomorrow through Tuesday. Wednesday morning I will leave for Robbinsville NC. If anyone wants to meet up for a ride through deals gap or dinner - pm me!

No pics today - just lots of highway - yuck.
 
Just wanted to say thanks to Cliff (Motogiro) for sending the fender clear across the country so I could have a working license plate light and the bike could pass inspection!

And thank you John (JJP_XX) for installing the license plate light, changing the oil, adjusting the chain, getting my bike inspected, riding with me for the first couple of hours, starting this thread and posting the pics!

Whew! Glad to hear that everything is ok.....and that overpacking paid off this time!
When we do our trips, I get ONE, yeah only ONE saddlebag! and a little bit of trunk space. :rolleyes:
At least this way I can't buy a bunch of t-shirts that I'd never wear anyway!
 
Cheryl, I read through the other thread, but I think I missed what part of Kentucky you're going to be in. If you make it through the central or eastern part of the state, that's my neck of the woods.

That's a LONG day, but good on ya for making it! Be safe and have a great ride and a great time visiting!
 
The FZ6 has landed in KY!

Cheryl did 480 miles today and is probably happy to be off the bike for the next few days! She will update later.

I am visiting near Hopkinsville for a couple of days. My son and his wife live here - he is in the army.

I did put 485 miles in today. I'm buying a new seat soon! I am so glad to finally be here! It was a good ride today - no oh crap moments or anything. I was able to get the bike on the centerstand all by myself. Many people stood there and watched so I was not going to fail!!!!!!!

Ashland OH through Cincinnati is being protected by many, many of Ohio's finest. Honestly, I must have seen 20 police cars taking radar in that 188 (or so) miles. Conversely I was in Kentucky for 100 miles before I saw a police car going in the other direction!

Did I say that I'm buying a new seat?

The more I ride this bike, the more impressed I am by it's outstanding performance. I am truly impressed with it - other than the seat LOL.

I hope you all have a great weekend, I will be on the road again in a few days. I forgot my card reader but will download pics asap.
 
Did you recieve any "Preformance Awards" in Ohio? I hope not!! John almost got one while going thru Wyoming, but thankfully the officer just gave us a finger shaking!
And did I understand you right? You don't like the seat? LMAO!

Have a great time with your family Cheryl, so glad your son is home safe.

No joking! I especially dislike the laser guns that they use. You know, the ones that look like a rifle and are aimed the same way....

Something wrong about a cop in that stance pointing a weapon-like device at me when I drive by. :)

The CB and my V1 are my friends when I have to drive though Ohio, but it's been a while since I've ridden through there on a motorcycle.
