I had on of the coolest things happen last night when I was filling up. I pull into the gas station and up to the pump. As I'm taking my helmet off I see a guy pumping gas into his big jeep suv at the pump across from me.

I walk in to the station, put 20$ on my pump, go back out, fill my tank, go get my change (5 bucks!) and come back out and just as im gearing up the man in the jeep is just leaving!! He must have put 30 gallons in his tank, while i put 3.5!! It was so awesome.

You gotta love it. I enjoy it when the SUV'ers look at the bike longingly as their gas meter keeps climbing and climbing...

I put in $105 the last time I filled my truck. It takes higher octane than the bike though. :D

Seems like at least a couple of times a week somebody in an Expedition or Yukon is asking me "What kind of gas mileage do ya' get on that thing" and I always smile and say "Better than your'e getting in that 'Thing'"!! Usually it's some guy (or occasionally a lady) who says they had a bike years ago and are thinking about getting another one now.
We've been seeing more and more motorcycles on the road every day here in Texas even though we are in the peak of summer heat right now. By thi fall I suppose there will be even more people parking the cage and getting aound on 2 wheels.

Tons of new riders have shown up in my area this year (including myself) and most are due to gas price concerns. Lot's of scooters too, they think they're safer for some reason  I rode through a police "safety checkpoint" the day after I bought the 6 and the cop asked me if I got it because of gas prices, I gave him a weird look and we both laughed a bit.

when I get that question from the suv crowd I say "I'm upset I'm only getting 47mpg". LOL. They go "only!". And I chuckle inside. LOL. Suckers!

I had just filled up in some small town in Texas. When an old man walked around the corner. carrying a box and heading for the dumpster, He looked at my bike and said "If this gas keeps going up, I am gonna get me a sickle"
