Hey guys and gals of FZ6 community,

I live about 60 miles north of Atlanta, GA and am fairly new to this board,
and with a brand new (08) FZ6. I just wanted to make this thread about
GMD Atlanta because these guys really know their stuff, and I believe can
really help us FZ6 folks wanting much better, even race-ready suspension.
These guys helped me set up my Honda VTX 1800 (yeah, 1800 heavy cruiser)
in the suspension department, and they really helped me. I'm going to be
giving them my new FZ6 very soon to set up the front.
They get bikes form all over the world, and can do work for you wherever you are,
but especially us in the north Georgia Area would benefit greatest. Owner's name is
Kent Soignier, and he's a bike & suspension genius. I've come to trust him just about exclusively.
Check them out at: GMDAtl.com

Also, they do have a nicely set up set of R6 forks there for sale. I think he
told me they're in the $500 vicinity, if I remember right. They were sweet.
If you need suspension help, I'd turn here. They're really, really excellent.

They deal in Ohlins, Race Tech, Bel Ray, and others. Only the best here.
This place is awesome, believe me. I want to spread the word.

I am good friends with the GMD Computrack guys in Boston (Not good enough friends to get free work done though) and they certainly do know their stuff. All the racers in the area use them and love their work.

I don't have deep enough pockets though to have them set anything up for me...

Hey reiobard, nice to see a New Englander posting.
I live in northern GA, but I've been down here in the south for about 5 years now.
I'm from New England (MA) with family in VT & NH. I would move back up there
to NH in a second if this economy would come back. Yeah, it's colder up there,
but I love it and miss it terribly.:D

ANYWAY, yeah GMD is a really good place. I'm getting to know them fairly well,
but I don't get free work either. I wish. The front end needs something done
right away. When Kent at GMD Atlanta tested out the forks yesterday, it was
about the worst I've ever seen. They bounced like worn out car shocks.
It's amazing the bike handles as well as it does. He then had me try out bikes
that had the revalving done, and it was night & day. Amazing what little valves
can do. It's not even the springs that are wrong for me.

Total setup for forks is in the $500 range, including springs, valves and all labor.
It is a little investment, but on a bike like this it's worth it. I'll do this before
pipes for sure.
