Black Friday weekend I found a deal on the PL360 side racks from tourandride.com, last weekend I installed them onto my 2007 FZ6. I already had the Givi FZ351 toprack installed with a E52 topcase, so adding the side racks wasn’t too much of a hassle. I started off by adding the turn signal mounts. My Italian is a little rusty, and by that I mean non-existent, but I was able to figure out that “Piastrina Grande” and “Piastrina Piccolo” both don’t translate to “Little Plate”. I drilled two holes under the rear reflector big enough for the stock turn signal connectors, so I didn’t need to extend the wires.
Mounting the rack wasn’t too difficult. I had to loosen the monorack supports underneath the seat to get everything to line up right. I added the rear crossbar at the end, I wasn’t quite sure what way to mount it with the bent section, whether it should go above the plate mounts or below, I think I’ve seen pics with both ways. I ended up putting it below the plate mount, but I had to bend the plate a bit since I’ve got a LED brake light mounted on the bottom of my plate and the wires run up behind it.
Here’s some pics with both E21’s (21 liters each) and E360’s (40 liters each) installed for comparison. By the way, the E360’s are nearly identical in size to the newer E41 keyless cases.
