I looked at the V46 but my X-Lite helmet won't fit in it next to my wife's Shoei because of the vent fin on the back, so I looked at something bigger.

Opinions? Be honest please :spank:

IMO all top cases are goofy looking. I have the OEM 44 liter (available everywhere but the US) and I don't like how it looks, but the bike looks decent with the case off and just the mount on. It sure is useful, however. Carries a lot of stuff.

Just put it on when you need it. You don't see it when you're on the bike. :)

I have a V46, and it to be honest E52 doesn't look that much bigger. To me, once it's there, it's there - 46, 52 and 55 liter cases do look that different. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself - i'm about to pull a trigger on either E52 or 55

I agree, side by side the E52 looks the same as the V46 but the extra few mm dimensions make the difference for me. All my biker buddies in the pub say it looks weird but like beatle said, you don't see it when you ride and just put it on when you need it.

The external dimensions of the 46, 52, and 55 are only about an inch difference or less in each dimension, so neither is going to really look all that different once it's on the bike. Go as big as you can afford.

I have a e52 and can fit two helmets in it. I also take the dumb document holder things out for an extra 3/4" height or so.

Looks aside, is the view in your mirrors affected?

Damn, I didn't think of that. Not sure if checking like I did yesterday would really help, the final mounting position will be a bit further back and a bit higher than in the pics, I was just looking at the proportions. Maybe I'll mount a rear view camera :D

Good point. I have to tuck in my arm to check if my V46 is still there, so if the difference in dimensions is only an inch or so on each side, it shouldn't be affected. But this is me - the only issue I haven't resolved is the rear view mirrors working with my 6'3 230lbs frame, so YMMV.

I own one just like that,
It's huge and I don't like the aesthetic, but the size it's also very handy. And it fits behind me so as long as I'm riding, I dont even notice it (in windy days it affects the stability)!

it isn't too big, it's ugly. You would buy better designed top case like givi v48 or shad sh50.

I'm using shad sh50 with kappa kz351 racks for 4 years and it's comfy for pillion, much solid, fine-looking, large and usable top case.

someone's fz6s on this forum (the case lacks painted cover which has to be bought and assembled):

Well today I pulled the trigger and bought the E52N case, 351FZ mounting arms, M5 mounting plate and E97 brake light kit.

For what it's worth the whole lot cost USD391/EUR352/GBP256.

I will install the setup tomorrow, maybe I'll post pics if I remember to take any :spank:

Well the box is on....

I just have to wire up the stop light and the job is finished.

Someone asked about rear view, if I sit normally on the bike I can't see the box in the mirrors, I have to pull in my elbows to see it so we are all good
