Gauge/Instrument Panel screen repair

Does anyone know if the clear plastic screen on the Gauge/Instrument Panel can be removed to get buffed out? I guess the harsh sun chewed mine up bad.

I cracked opened my manual to see if it mentions anything like it.
While the manual doesn't and I haven't played with mine yet (though I may very well look now), I found this.
