FZ6R upper triple tree onto FZ6

I plan on maybe running clipons.

Is it possible to install an upper triple tree from an FZ6R onto and FZ6?

There is one for sale local to me dirt cheap and it would help me get rid of the bulky risers from the fz6 uppe triple becuase on the fz6r you can remove the risers and put them back in if needed be.

Anyone ever tried?

The forks are different diameters if I recall correctly.

Looks like the ignition switch is centered instead of offset to the left, so you'd probably lose your steering lock even if it will bolt up.

The FZ6r uses 41mm forks, the FZ6 uses 43mm forks, you could try an upper clamp from a 03-04 R6, not 05's they came w/ 50mm forks, or the 06-07 R6s, same bike with different name,they both use 43mm forks, but stay away from the 06-13 R6r, it uses 50mm inverted forks.

Just thinking out loud, but wouldn't you need both the R6 triples? That's just my assumption, since when you put R6 forks in FZ6 triples, the otherwise identical front wheels require different spacers than either the FZ or R6.

Hence the word "try", wheel spacers means the axle hubs on the lower stantions are different widths, but it doesn't mean the forks are spaced futher apart, but R6 triple trees as a complete are fairly cheap.

So 03-04 r6 upper triples MIGHT work..

Ill keep that in mind.

The r6 top triple is about 1/4" wider than the fz6 triple and where the stem goes is much bigger on the r6 than the fz6. So it won't work.
