FZ6 vs R6..

yeah, thats kinda my main thing, i like the 600cc class, but would just like to know what it would take for my bike to equal an R6... exhaust... juice box... but at the same time, an R6 with those same mods would still be faster correct?

in all honesty, i really just want to know what i can say in response to the "its the baby brother to the R6" as if the R6 is superior.

Unless you retrofit an R6 engine/supercharge your FZ engine/run nitrous, or spend a lot of money having new cams/porting/fuel maps with a power commander done to your FZ, the R6 will be faster. Plus, you'd have to reduce the weight of the FZ down to that of the R6.

For racing, it is better. For practicality and street riding, it's not. If you get fronted with the "baby brother" remark, remind them that a good rider on a 500cc track bike can beat amateur liter bike riders all day long.

Also, remind them of the lower insurance (in most cases), and lower sticker price. A lot of people buy SS bikes and get racing technology that they'll never come close to using.

For many actual riders, the FZ is a smarter choice. Let those :squid: 's get their jollies off thinking your bike is just a "little baby brother".

We all know the FZ is a good bike. Let their higher price tags and insurance be "superior".

That being said, if I had enough money for a second bike, it would probably be some sort of SS bike, but because I've got my FZ as an everyday rider.

The R6 is like 2-3 grand more it better be superior at what its made to do.

But there is so many different kinds of riding and riding styles. They both shine in different disciplines. Their still close enough tho performance wise were the better rider will mostly prevail for the most part even in track racing.
