Just wanted to put the word out that my blue 2007 Yamaha FZ6 was stolen from my condo's "secure" parking garage on Monday, July 23rd between 7-10:30am around Gresham/Portland, Oregon. It has reflective blue rim tape and had current and unexpired Idaho plates on it. (I just moved) If anyone sees any parts for one near the area that sound like they may have come off a stolen 2007 FZ6, I'd REALLY appreciate it if you'd PLEASE let me know so I can figure out if it's off my bike and try to locate it. Thanks everyone!
~The dismayed previous proud owner of a blue '07 FZ6.

After relocating to Boise because of work, I made sure that I had an attached garage to my apartment, and there are not many here in this town. I've been around long enough that having your bike parked outside in a apartment/condo complex is an invitation to get your bike stolen. When I lived in Vegas for twelve years, this sort of thread was a weekly occurance, and always from an apartment/condo.

Not a very warm welcome to the Rose City huh? I hope the police finds your bike. Keep us posted. I'll be in Portland next weekend, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Sorry for loss, hopefully you get some sort of restitution.

Garage is the best way to go but sometimes that doesn't stop Em. Heard of bikes getting taken from garages and even from inside peoples apartments.

If they want it they'll get it.

Wonder if they thought it was a r6?

I will as well. I'm sure glad I have a garage myself. I don't really hear much about bike thefts here in Portland. I have an alarm for 3 years and have not installed it yet. I think I probably should.

Lets all hit the button often and keep a look out for parts. . .

portland all for sale / wanted classifieds "fz6" - craigslist

Edit: if you all have other search engines to list throw them up here. I'm not on fleebay often but a local area search couldn't hurt. Obviously it'll all too late by then, but hopefully we can try and stop them. . .

Thanks a ton everyone! And all you portland/nearby people - I seriously appreciate you keeping your eyes and ears open for it!

I agree with Bren! Does wanker have the same meaning in Australia as it does in the states

Hope they catch the bastards

Dunno Karen we're picking up all these slang words from you Aussies, Brits, and Canadians! :p

To the OP. You have eyes here in San Diego. Sorry for your loss.

A DVR wired up with a half-decent, strategically placed closed circuit camera panning the outdoor parking space (if possible/practible/permissable) is also nice deterrent and post-theft tool. Other measures:

1) Camera Surveillance (night vision capable) with DVR system
2) Scorpio or equivalent alarm system
3) LoJack
4) Disc Lock
5) Case hardened chain connected to disc lock

Wake up, and you notice your ride is STILL gone!

hmmm - - - it seems the more we undress her and make her look sporty, the chances of theft go up!

Better place a big 250CC sticker on the side as deterrent!

I checked ebay last night, just stuff from VA and it was a black FZ.

Hi Randy

Yeah really! I had a guy walk up to my garage yesterday asking for a cig, he asked if my bike was a 600 or a 1000. I told him no, its just a 250, I'm still learning:BLAA:

Thats the 2nd person to walk up like that.....garage stays closed now!

A guy I worked with was ex Marines. He had an R1 with GPS security. It was stolen. He got his mates together and they went to get it. They got it.:eek::eek::D
