I have a 2004 FZ6 and iam trying (without much sucess) to fit a Biketronix gear indicator. Does anyone no where I pick up the feed for the green rev counter wire. I have tried all the wires going into dash but none seen to work

Regards Dazza

You might have better luck tapping into the neccessary inputs at the ECU connector. I just finished an install with a DG8 so color coding may be different, but RPM, speedo, power, and ground should all be the same.

Digi Wire connect to ECU male connector (ACUMEN DGV and DG8)

RED ----------------> RED with white stripe + brown dots
BROWN ----------------> GREY with brown dots
BLACK ----------------> BLACK with brown dots
ORANGE ----------------> WHITE with yellow stripe and brown dots
RED ----------------> 12VDC+ constant

Why not "just" do like this guy... not exactly easy but looks good indeed.

Or this guy if you have the "older" model like me...

Last one looks very very convincing and like something that could have been stock!

This is the guy to send your gauge to if you want this mod. He's done too many to count. He's got a pic of an FZ6 with it fitted. I wish I lived in the US so he could do mine. I'd ask for the LEDs etc to be changed to so that my display looks like this awesomeness. Although I may go for blue instead of white LEDs. Unfortunately, I can't live without my bike for as long as all the posting & modding would take. Plus I bet the shipping costs would be awful.

cheers dude

might go and get a 2nd had cluster to play with to do mine!
i have done the dash in my car red and thats looks sweet

would love to do the bike the same and the dgi be trick as

ps your site is down!

hi there
i have the one from biketronix,

it works nice but only for a certain wide of RPM,for example if u teach it(ground)

in 6.000 rpm every gear,it wil work and show the actual gear,in 4.000 rpm -7.000 rpm,

before that range and after it it shows Neutral...this is great fault from biketronix...

as i contact them and spoke with many ppl,EVERYONE had at least one problem....

so as company the produced something that cannot work good 100 percent...

personally i dont check it so much,

but if u need ...toss it away and buy the one from Dg8...

so the ground wire on the ecu is BLACK with brown dots i looked and looked
and no solid black wire get back with me if you can thank you

I installed a datatool gear indicator using the correct wires (the same used on acumen) on my 2008 fz6 and when I touch the orange wire to ground to program the unit it lets me select how many gears but then it automatically goes back to P for program. It may be defective I'm not sure. I have followed the directions to program and double checked my wiring with no luck.
