FZ1 bar question

Just got my FZ1 handlebars from Ron Ayers. On the throttle side right at the bend, there is an 1/8th inch post on the bottom side of the bar. Anyone know what this is for. I looked at some of the other threads about FZ1 bars and didn't see any mention of this.
I'm wondering if they sent me the wrong ones. Part # on the bag matches though 2D1-26111-01-00

Leave it there, and don't use it. Don't know what it's fore - but its on all FZ1 bars. You can also cut it off.
