Fz 600 Rear Sprocket play (video)

Hi guys,

So I noticed this when I bought the bike and seamed like it was made like this, but now I'm wondering, The rear sprocket is mounted to a separate piece than the actual rim and there is alot of play, there is 4-5 hex bolts that hold the sprocket on that turn both ways, but dont tighten or loosen.

If you watch the video you can see what I mean, Is this normal or am i going to take a spill because of this,

There are rubber dampers between the sprocket assembly and the wheel hub. I believe that is a little too much play and I would pull that wheel and inspect that damper and associated assemblies for wear or damage.

Looks like your cush drive is worn. Just pull the wheel off and then pull on the sprocket. it willl just pull off the wheel noting to undo , then inspect the cush drive

I think I would replace that rusty chain as well.


Here is a video, not an fz6 but same thing. Dont pay any mind to the Mechanic he does a few things wrong, I would not let him touch my bike. The greasy rag on the tire is a nice touch :O
