fuel tank switchout?

Does anyone know if a 2009 fz6R fuel tank will fit on a 2007 fz6, mines pretty banged up and I want to replace it.. Thanks

Maybe, the front mounting points are different. You might be able to use the FZs front bracket with the FZR tank, but I'm not sure if the holes would line up on both brackets. The Yamaha part numbers are the same, but the shape of the tank looks different on the fiche.

I'm not totally sure about an Fz6R but I have two red FZ6 tanks for sale if you are still looking for a deal.

Hey thanks for that schematic.. it does look different , it's confusing though becuase some of the listings on eBay claim 2005-2009 will work. And I'm trying to replace a blue with the same or black.. don't think red would work but thanks..

Bump..still not sure.. anybody have experience with this issue? Dropped it in the garage, so now it looks even worse..(real btch to pick up by yourself , but it can be done)
