FS: 2008 FZ6 Forks & Axle

you drive a hard bargin... I have an 04... that I went to replace the left fork seal and messed up the left fork... guess thats a 170 mistake... :-( I'll PM you my email for an invoice

I have to decline as you need late model calipers to go with them as they won't fit as is. So dont say I didn't warn ya! ):

hi timmat.

the 2pot calipers you have will not work as is on the s2 fork legs. the reason is simple. the mounting points of the 2pot calipers are 86 mm apart, while the mounting points of the 4pots are 100 mm apart. so if you want the 2pots to work on the S2 forks you need to fabricate a strong bracket that will not bend under braking.

the poster of the first thread wanted to know if the 4pots would need shimming to work with the s1 disk brake, which is a differnt story. he was using the s2 calipers together with s2 forks, which will need no shimming when used with s1 disk brakes.

i have done this conversion from s1 to s2 forks/calipers and i am positive that s1 calipers will not bolt to s2 forks.

These threads do not explain the issue you have.
Check your PM. You need the later model 4 puck pistons.

hi final, i know you were joking but yes i'm real sorry about the sale as its the last thing you want to hear that something does not fit, but its better to be clear and not have any hassle afterwards.

Doesn't stop me... It's just sad when I can buy 2 forks and 2 calipers cheaper than a fork on ebay or dealer.... I appreciate the info though... hopefully I'll be able to recoup a decent amount when I sell my right fork and calipers:-)
